Hot Toddy Recipe – Soothe Your Cold

In summer, we would not normally recommend a hot drink, but when your sick, this is what I use to feel better. This obviously doesn’t comes in a children’s form, but hey, we have to have something for ourselves. Hot Toddies, in my experience, can open your sinuses if you let your nose take in the hot vapors. You will feel the soothing honey helps control cough, but more than likely it is the alcohol suppressing some of your responses. And last, I get the natural drowsiness that follows and sleep is important during the healing process. Try this next time you are under the weather, and tells us what you think. I do not recommend using this and medications at the same time.

1 oz (2 tablespoons) bourbon
1 tablespoon mild honey
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup boiling-hot water

Put bourbon, honey, and lemon juice in a 6-ounce mug. Top off with hot water and stir until honey is dissolved.
